We all know that bangs are tricky. Depending on the shape of the face, they can accentuate great bone structure or make someone look 11 years old. Whether you’re considering getting bangs or you’re ready to grow your current bangs out again, there is an option that offers all the fun of getting fringed without so much commitment: long, eyelash-skimming bangs.
This look can work multiple angles, whether sideswept and chic or parted down the middle and casual. Examples of those who wear it well include Kate Moss, Brigitte Bardot, Alexa Chung and Kate Middleton. The effect is one of relaxed cool and a bit of vintage European sexiness.

Spoke SLO co-owner and celebrity/editorial hairstylist Jon Reyman advises those considering face-framing bangs to start safe with chin-length fringe because you can always snip them shorter later on, and because bangs are considerably lighter at that length and may bounce up with a bit of natural curl anyway.
The key to pulling off long-term long bangs? Thinning. Reyman explains that as hair grows, it gets significantly heavier, so regular thinning makes bangs much easier to manage. And for those transitioning from full bangs to long ones, Reyman advises consistent visits to the salon to blend the old look into the new with purpose, about every six to eight weeks.
